What is a family portrait? – Melbourne Family Photographer
Posted on March 19, 2011
At Hyggelig Photography, our definition of a family portrait is one where we’ve been able to capture your spirit, the love, your bond, and perhaps even the slightly kooky side of you and your loved ones.
This family certainly had no troubles letting go in front of the lens
We got all sorts of laughs, tickles, smiles and raspberries.
It was so hard to narrow them down to a preview, thank you for the opportunity to photograph you again! We hope you love the preview guys.

No giggles today, its with tears in our eyes we ask you to help us make a difference…
Its been a hard 2011 so far with floods, cyclones and now this devastating earthquake.
Christchurch holds a special place in Hyggelig’s heart, this is where Michael was born and raised.
Its been a long couple of days for some, and whilst all our family and friends are save at this time, we still feel helpless and want to assist in even a small way.
We ask that you head to the Salvation Army‘s website and donate
http://www.salvationarmy.org.au/christchurch-earthquake.html
For those donations made over $150.00 we would like to offer a complimentary Hyggelig session*
For those smaller but still worthy donations we would like to offer a discount to the same value towards a Hyggelig session. Both offers will include a 20% coupon off any purchases made * conditions will apply
Please email us if you have any question, we can forward you details & conditions. Please forward to anyone you feel comfortable with asking to contribute.
Our hearts and thoughts are with everyone affected, here and in New Zealand.

Lest We Forget, Anzac Day – Melbourne Photographer
Posted on April 25, 2010
Poppies are flowers that hold lots of memories for me…. When we came across this field of poppies in Paris last year on our honeymoon, I was on the ground taking photos without hesitation… I’m sure the 100′s of people lining up in the queue to visit the underground Paris Catacombs, thought I was a little odd.. but atleast Michael knew me by now so it wasnt a shock to him.
Memories of picking wild poppies in our backyard for Mum, or maybe just because Mum’s Dad we called him Pop/Poppy.
So its fitting that Poppies also serve as a remembrance symbol of our war heroes young & old.
We lost Pop almost 20years ago, but we will never forget that he served on in WWII on the Kokoda trail & days like today I like to think of him….
Lest We Forget…

Time out for Easter
Posted on April 22, 2010
Michael and I were lucky to have both of our parents here to celebrate Easter this year, we headed to Mt Macedon for a picnic. Nice to bring the camera and just capture your surroundings… Lake Sanatorium wasn’t very big, but loved how the water reflected its surroundings… I even found wild holly bit of a contrast to Easter ! … gorgeous landscapes bound for canvas I think! … and I got to sneak one of Michael too
